This is NOT 3 weeks of growth…more like 2-3 months!! You are being scammed my friend.
No few months worth then it was cleaned poorly
So not only do y'all act like Shay doesn't exist during the episode(which is weird). You delete the comments from people asking why you didn't introduce her or even mention her? I dont understand the snub. She's an up and coming first time yacht owner starting out on a 70' project yacht. Thats pretty ballsy if you ask me, and I applaud her for having the guts to go for it. Why not give her a hand up? It costs nothing to give her a shout out.
That is simply not true. We did introduce her, both vocally and in titles. We even wrote a funny intro to showcase her joining us. And we never delete comments. I wouldn't even know how. We invited her to join us since we knew she was an up and coming UA-camr and we enjoy her channel. She was only on our boat a couple days and not much was really going on, so she did not get much screen time.
Ya'll are "AWSOMENESS"... PRESENTATION (CHECK), APPEARANCE (CHECK), KNOWLEDGE (CHECK).... KEEP IT COMING....
I started diving and cleaning the boat of my boat. I anchor in clear water and do it. I don't trust divers and a lot of them do a poor job!
Great boat for age! So well cared for. I would love living on the water, its just that im not handy to fix things. And the cost! U are blessed.
This was very informative. Good luck
Lived just south of Boynton Inlet in Palm Beach County. The hot water in the summer and flow of water where I lived made it so after about 3 weeks I would have significant growth. Enough so that I would lose about 400 rpm on the engines. I do think though that your growth is more than 3 weeks worth.
Time to get your fuel tanks cleaned out. You’ve got a bunch of sludge in there and it’ll keep plugging various filters until you do a proper tank clean
Guys, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you guys are waaaaay awesome and funny ,and your videos are waaaaay awesome enough to be waaaaay longer😊
How old is the bottom paint?
Have you put the Mantus to the test in the Bahamas sand over limestone??
Ha
Name them! That is ridiculous!
So much for "boastng" about the bottom cleaning guys. Time to speak with others in that marina.
My Bertram is here in Broward County so a LOT further south and I've NEVER had that much growth in even 2 months. SPEAK to others where you were docked as some areas are more prone to growth. Bottom paints ALL suck thanks to the environmentalists but fresh paint is better and different paints work better in different areas so you should also speak to others in your area for recomendations. Looks like whatever yard you haul at is going to have a "field day" with the extra scraping charge and then odds are will also need sanding to get her smooth or performance will be hindered. Down here Micron CSC, one of their medium priced paints seems to work best and forget about using Tri Lux on running gear as it appears the formula was changed and the last few years it sucked. Prop Speed has NO anti growth but when in the water is extremely slippery to prevent barnicles from adhearing to it. Been using for 3 years now on props & shafts but it's SUPEER expensive and whoever applies it MUST follow the application instructions or it will just wash off. Welcome to my world. Lastly; an old buddy purchased a home on the Dania Cut Off Canal for the dock water. Want to see what grows; just look at the dock pilings. For some reason, except for a light moss, nothing grows there. Same with the house he used to have on South Bimini. Personally I think the clearer the water the less growth.
that was not cleaned
65 foot is alot of yacht. that fuel bill is quite expensive
Does a “Clean” bottom have those white circles on it ? You leave the foundation and they will grow quickly . And if you are ok with white circles , don’t expect that prop to not vibrate or cavitate when running. You needed a haul out and a proper wash , scrape and sanding. Your diver can extend the time between haul out but isn’t going to prevent it . It does look like they skipped scraping the lower side of keel .
You should have your tanks cleaned if there is access.
Music is annoying!
The way I'm lookin at it is there is clean spots and Barnacle spots. Why is their not a even layer all over. Barnacles will grow on the entire bottom surface. The clean area is what has been scraped clean. The Props and shafts lower keel was not touched. Lazy workers , they only did half a job so that they didn't feel bad about charging you. Its a way of getting out and staying im sorry my guy did a bad job or I fired that guy.
Ridiculous! No way that was three weeks of growth there.
nark,em out tell us who that was,,, that aint right captain
The "sludge" in your tanks may very well be mold. It grows in the interface between the fuel, and any water that was in the tank. It remains even after the water is removed. You can buy diesel mold killer to take care of the problem. But, be sure to have plenty spare filters on board first. You will go through several before the treatment is complete.
I have 6V92 Detroits in my boats. I had an "algae" problem in my tanks a few years ago. I assume you know you have to treat your fuel or the problem will get continuously worse, because it's actually growing in your tanks. I used Killem and it works well. Since then, I use it whether I'm having a problem or not.
No way .. 3 weeks. Yeah right
You are smart enough to know that your bottom cleaner must be fired. Absolutely no way it was cleaned 3weeks ago. Haul out and do bottom job. Anti foul is not working. Good luck
It's hard to believe your hull has been cleaned as you think. However, it's not obvious to me that the hull is contributing to your 1000 RPM and vibration issue. Did you get it resolved?
Thank for making this. Presentation was clear and full of good information.
Who ever develops a Anti-Barnacle product will become a Billiobaire
Micron 44 was the best of the best. Only had to haul every other year and didn't need a diver. Environmentalists wiped it off the market. The battle ship NJ was recently in the yard for new bottom paint. News media said the 3 new coats expected to last 35 YEARS. What's the Navy using ??
Exactly the same for us, hull was "cleaned" three weeks before departure, Vibration and low revs, bought in another dive company and found growth up to two inches in places. The original guys charge by the foot so go figure...... This was in the Palm Beach area as well.
Thanks for sharing
“what should we do?” …. fire the diving company … after getting a refund for the last “clean” (not)
No way
What thread are you using, I’m exploring a PFTE solar fix as the sun guard I had is crap.
Take samples to see how old they are
Morgan n Morgan 😂 Seriously they robbed you. Lazy Scheisters.
The Indian River can be crazy for barnacles (I'm in Brevard county). I left my center console a week in the Indian River and had plenty of growth on the hull and outboard. From my experience, it's not unexpected to see that growth in a few weeks.
We had similar experience with monthly dive cleans. Ended in replacing a bow thruster. PIA but lesson learned.
yeah that looks like normal growth in Florida hot water. 55 Hatteras in Ponce inlet Marina just up the road from Titusville. my diver cleans twice a month. I have fresh bottom paint and prop speed welcome to Florida.
I don't hear you say "roger out" anymore😢.... it always put a smile on my face..
wee question about the cables can you get teflon lined cable outer
Great boat please no back round music
Lynn wondering why wouldn’t you put a reinforcement under the wear spot using the zigzag on the sail right with another piece of canvas vice hand darning.
clearly this was not properly cleaned 3 weeks ago. you got robbed.
Like everyone else is saying... that bottom was NOT cleaned properly. Sad that people take your money and don't do the work.
I have them do before pictures/ video and when they're done ask new pictures/ video?
Personally, I would ask for a video after they do the cleaning if you are not comfortable going down there yourself
Hey Guys! It was great running with you! Hope the journey on to the Bahamas went much better!
We had a blast. We are back in Titusville now.
